Named after the jasmine flower, Jasmine Rice is a long grain rice native to Thailand with a delicate floral and buttery scent. The secret to cooking it perfectly is getting the right ratio of water to rice. Jasmine Rice is softer than most white rice, which means you need less water in order for the rice to cook, so it's soft and fluffy. While most rice is cooked with 1½ cups of water for each cup of rice, Jasmine Rice is reduced to 1¼ cups of water.
